Jamie and I were having a discussion the other day with some friends about when you stop referring to your kid’s age in months, and we’ve decided that 18 months is the graduating point from months to years for us. Since Hadley will be 18 months on Sunday, we’re officially in transition mode to answering “a year and a half” when asked how old she is. On that note, I cannot believe she’s half way to two! Insanity.
Just like all the other stages of her life that I’ve wanted to freeze, this one is no different. We’re obsessed with the stage she’s in right now and really can’t get enough of watching her grow and learn. One of the things I love the most about being her mom is that I have a reason every single day to laugh out loud. That may sound really silly, but even on really bad days when I’m overwhelmed, sad, frustrated, etc. about something going on, she still gives me a reason to temporarily forget about life’s stresses and just laugh. I love her so much!
Here’s a little slice of life from the last 2-3 weeks.
We were once again at the doctor a couple weeks ago because she’d been pulling at her ears for three days, so we assumed she was experiencing her second ear infection. We were wrong and she was just fine. Pictured below is her favorite part of doctor visits – the fish tank!
The day after I got my new lens, we headed to the park with my MIL so I could play around with how to use it. Don’t let Hadley’s face fool you. She was having lots of fun!
After we ate at the hibachi restaurant, we ran around The Legends shopping center in Kansas City with my in-laws for about an hour. She is like a magnet to water when she sees it!
Hadley sporting her Boston shirt on Patriots Day/Boston Marathon day. 🙂
I’m telling you. This girl will find the water.
Our good buddy Chris took command of his unit a couple weeks ago, and we were so glad we could be at his ceremony and to meet his sweet parents that flew in. We’re standing in front of an apache helicopter, which is what he and my BIL Josh both fly. Super impressive. We love the Landers clan!
Teddy maxin and relaxin on the way to Kansas City to spend a weekend with Jamie’s parents before we jetted off to the beach.
We had the most wonderful five days in Florida. Did you check out my post about our trip? You can find it here.
My friend Jessica is due with her daughter Mia next month, and we got to log on to see her 4D ultrasound live. Jamie’s pointing to Mia in this picture showing Hadley what her future best friend looks like. 🙂
After the lightning died down this weekend, we let Hadley play in the rain for the first time. She wasn’t a huge fan, so Jamie swooped her up to do a little dancing in the rain. #bestillmyheart #bestdadever
Our Mother’s Day was quiet but wonderful! Jamie made breakfast, we went to church, ate lunch out with the Landers, and relaxed the rest of the day. Two thumbs up!
Not only did our church have this cute little photo booth, but the youth group had a cookie making station for all the littles to make cookies with their moms. Hadley and Jack loved it! I love their little icing-covered faces.
I swear I don’t usually take pictures at the gym, so it’s funny that I have two in this one post. Jamie sent me a text yesterday asking what I was up to, so I snapped this picture to send to him. I’ve never hit 100 floors before on the stair master, so I was feeling pretty good (mentally, not physically). Ha!
We’re obsessed with apples right now. Saying “app-al”, eating apples, when we say apple, everything. I was singing a silly song to her about apples, and she was giggling up a storm.
She's getting so big! My husband hates when people refer to children in months rather than years. I was a teacher for a while and my classroom was 12-24 months old. From birth to age 2, there's just so many developmental changes going on which is why most continue to refer to their age in months. My students may have all been a year old, but a 14 month old and an 18 month old are so developmental different. I tried explaining this to my husband and it went in one ear and out the other haha For me, the "graduating point" will be at 2 years old.
That backpack is so adorable! She looks like she's ready to jet off without you.
Hadley is so adorable! I love the photo of her at the hibachi place lol too cute!
These are so cute! And how awesome are those shoes?! I'm gonna check those out for my littlest one 🙂
My heart totally swelled up when you posted the picture of your husband and Hadley dancing in the rain on Twitter!
Yours and mine both, girl! Ha! 🙂
